Teeth Whitening

A Bright Smile Provides a Great First Impression

There is no doubt that a bright, beautiful smile makes a tremendous first impression in any business or social situation. You may be on a first date, at an important sales presentation, facing colleagues for a crucial board room presentation, or nervously heading for your high school reunion. There are many times that your confidence will be boosted by having a beautiful smile to share with others. Teeth whitening is an effective treatment for improving the quality of your smile.

Teeth Whitening Options

If you are interested in whitening your teeth, there are a few possibilities for you to consider. Dr. Sugg and his staff can provide additional information about each of them. They can also help you decide which option will provide the results that you need.

  • Dental-assisted whitening – This is the strongest and most effective option. The process includes professional help from your dentist at the office. One of the greatest advantages to this option is that it provides immediate results. You can see your smile whitened by several shades in a single office visit. This option is recommended, especially if you need quality results in a hurry.
  • Teeth whitening gels/trays – These options are less expensive, but they also do not provide strong and immediate results. One reason for this is that the whitening solutions provided are not as strong as the solutions used in your dentist’s office. Another thought to consider is that they do not provide as many tray sizes. This means that you are more likely to endure some discomfort during treatment because of trays that do not fit exactly.
  • Teeth whitening strips – While this option is simpler and basically effective, you will need to wait several days before you will see the improvement that you desire.
  • Teeth whitening toothpaste – While most of these are advertised as tooth whitening treatments, they are usually nothing more than a polishing treatment.

Any effective tooth whitening process is likely to use peroxide as the active whitening agent. In essence, it bleaches your teeth. The results are never permanent, but the improvement is obvious and beautiful.
